Time Change

Well, of course at 3 PM today I had all sorts of great ideas about what to publish next on this blog, and they have all evaporated from my mind.

Daylight savings, or really the change to or from daylight savings has always wrecked havoc around here.  Years ago, when M was small, months would go by before his little internal clock finally switched over.  In the fall this meant months of getting up at, oh, 4:30 AM in the pitch black.  This year it seems to be little sister who is affected, and just to keep me on my toes she switched the fun and games to bedtime, instead.  We had a veritable wrestling match at bathtime, I kid you not, with her alternating between screeching and insane giggles.  Luckily, she was so tired that she only visited me once tonight after I tucked her in and seems to be asleep now.  M, by contrast, has really evened out in the sleep department.  Only took him 6 years or so to manage that, but I am glad that he figured it out.

Halloween was a blast this year, as both kids are really old enough to have fun.  They dressed up as Harry Potter and Hedwig.  P and I were supposed to be Dumbledore and McGonagall, but I couldn’t manage to get the costumes anywhere near finished.  The kids were a little disappointed, but pretty much left us in the dust anyway when it came to the actual trick-or-treating, so I’m not sure it really mattered.  Maybe I’ll get them done for next year.  Or perhaps for the end of semester party at M’s Harry Potter class, and we can all wear them.  Anyway, M and A naturally got a huge haul of all sorts of horrifying candy, and I am plotting to slowly pilfer the most objectionable.  I may offer cash for certain items: the kids do have a mercenary side to them.

And, I know I keep promising but pics are to follow.  P bought me a new hard drive to store all my media files (?) so now the pics are no longer taking up vital space on this computer.  Perhaps tomorrow….
